Hello Everyone, All goals need to have the following characteristics: 1. Goals are put down in writing. If it is not written down and recorded, it's not a goal. It will remain a wish or a dream. Wishes and dreams are nice but they usually don't come true without a written plan of action. 2. Goals are specific and measurable. Toning up, bulking up and getting healthy are vague notions, not goals. Losing 4 pounds of fat, building 4 pounds of muscle or dropping your cholesterol by 40 points are goals. 3. Goals have a specific time- line. Time-lines make goals more real. Talk about losing 4 pounds of fat in 10 weeks time versus just focusing on the 4 pounds. With a time-line you know exactly when it's going to happen. 4. Goals are realistic. Of course you can set a goal to lose 5 pounds of fat in a week but that's not likely.
