Hello Everyone, All goals need to have the following characteristics: 1. Goals are put down in writing. If it is not written down and recorded, it's not a goal. It will remain a wish or a dream. Wishes and dreams are nice but they usually don't come true without a written plan of action. 2. Goals are specific and measurable. Toning up, bulking up and getting healthy are vague notions, not goals. Losing 4 pounds of fat, building 4 pounds of muscle or dropping your cholesterol by 40 points are goals. 3. Goals have a specific time- line. Time-lines make goals more real. Talk about losing 4 pounds of fat in 10 weeks time versus just focusing on the 4 pounds. With a time-line you know exactly when it's going to happen. 4. Goals are realistic. Of course you can set a goal to lose 5 pounds of fat in a week but that's not likely. (5 pounds of fat would take anywhere from 5-7 weeks based on commitment level and level of experience. Goals should reflect an accurate understanding of how long it actually takes to attain such a...

I have been involved with exercise and weight training for 20+ years. However, I have only been a Fitness Professional for about 10 years now. I obtained my first certification from The National Personal Trainers Institute. That is how I met my friend and mentor Eric Wrona. Since then I have gone on to get other certifications. I have taken various courses to expand my knowledge on exercise, nutrition, physiology, you name it. I have studied under some of the best trainers in the Dallas metroplex to expand my skill sets over the last 10 years. I feel it is extremely important to not only have the book smarts but the street smarts too. As a Fitness Professional I feel it is necessary to lead by example. I live the lifestyle I preach, not part of the time but all of the time. As a baby boomer (young age of 48), I feel it helps encourage my clients, as well as others, to see that age is not a factor.
